RAGUSANO DOP Certification

RAGUSANO DOP: THE STEPS TO CERTIFICATION

For Ragusano to be DOP, producers who want to be part of the certification system must submit a formal request.

The request must be addressed to CoRFiLaC (Consortium for Research in the Dairy, Cheese and Agri-Food Supply Chain sector) for DOP certification, having read the regulations and obligations, accepting and committing to respect them.

To obtain the Certification for Ragusano DOP it is necessary to follow some specific steps as listed below:

Collaborate in the inspection visit of the technical inspectors for the first evaluation of the company. The essential requirements such as the location of the company and the production technology, identification and traceability of the product will be detected. The operating methods will also be examined and the forms to be used will be illustrated;

Implementation of the system, in collaboration with technical inspectors or professional associations;

Inspection by technical inspectors which will be followed by a formal evaluation and presentation of the results to the Committee 

Certification;

Evaluation by the Certification Committee which will assign the DOP mark or request any corrective actions if necessary.
