ZOOTECHNICAL FOOD LABORATORY
The laboratory carries out analysis and research activities at the service of the various sectors of CoRFiLaC, thanks to long training courses and continuously updated in technological and scientific aspects.
The Livestock Food laboratory, in addition to carrying out research support activities, offers an analytical service in the chemical and nutritional evaluation of foods for livestock use, in order to be able to estimate the production response of the animals with sufficient precision. Furthermore, some contaminating factors such as mycotoxins are determined. The matrices that can be analyzed are numerous and can be grouped into the following main groups:
• Fodder; Hays, silage, silage, green fodder
• Concentrate; Raw materials (Cereals/Legumes) compound feed
• Industrial/company processing by-products (straw, bran, panels, extraction flours)
• Unifeed
The forage analysis service is aimed at breeders, agronomists, sector technicians and feed mills. In addition to chemical-physical results, the laboratory offers support on the evaluation of analysis results in order to improve the productivity and quality of food.
The Laboratory has combined classic analyzes with innovative NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) instrumentation capable of providing a real time analysis service. This technique allows, in a few minutes, to evaluate the nutritional characteristics of livestock feed in a precise and reliable way, with immediacy of use and with reduced costs.
RING TEST: participates in Italian interlaboratory circuits for monitoring the quality of the analytical data collected.
